Vinicola Maturano
Where the art of winemaking meets the soul of Brazil, creating wines that resonate with the rhythm of the land
Who we are
Vinícola Maturano, located in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro state, is scheduled to open in 2025 as a complete wine tourism complex. This space will feature a restaurant, wine bar, a charming chapel and a modern winery capable of producing up to 320,000 bottles per year.
The Maturano family has roots in the region since 1924, when Manoel Maturano arrived and settled in the picturesque Alpine Valley. With the expertise of Monica Rosseti and the Floeno as consultants, this initiative promises to offer visitors a memorable wine tourism experience, revealing the charms and unique flavors of Brazilian wines.
What is coming...
The winery
We grow Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec, Merlot and Chardonnay, along with 11 experimental varieties. Guided by oenologist Monica Rosetti, recognized for her work at global events, and the consultancy Floeno, we aim to produce 320,000 bottles by 2032, ensuring sustainable and high-quality practices.
The restaurant
Our restaurant will offer a unique fusion of international cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, and our culinary team will create seasonal, farm-to-table dishes perfectly paired with our wines. Guests will dine amid stunning vineyard views, enjoying a harmonious blend of culinary traditions that celebrate the rich terroir of our region.
The hotel
Our hotel will offer a luxurious retreat, perfectly integrated into the natural landscape. Equipped with a spa, gym and convention center, it offers guests unparalleled comfort and convenience. A helipad and a hangar for up to 5 helicopters ensure easy access. The hotel promises a unique lodging experience, combining luxury with the serene beauty of Teresópolis.
‘’With current production, Maturano is already the largest grape producer in the state of Rio de Janeiro.’’
-Correio da Manhã (Teresópolis on the Wine Tourism route)
Our story
The Maturano family has a significant history in Brazil. Its history began over a hundred years ago, in 1924, when Manoel Maturano, son of immigrants Leonardo and Maria Maturano, became the first Maturano to be born in Brazil. He settled in the Vale Alpino region of Teresópolis. Initially focused on agriculture, the family gradually expanded its business into the commercial sector over the decades. Finally returning to its agricultural roots in 2020, our project came to life through the acquisition of our property.
Since then, the winery has represented the realization of a long-held dream not only of improving Brazilian wine, but also of providing opportunities for growth in the city where our family has been present for over 100 years. We are proud to contribute to the economic and social development of our community, generating jobs and strengthening the bonds of unity and cooperation among local residents. We believe that through wine, we can not only celebrate special moments, but also build a more prosperous future for everyone.
"Agriculture runs in our veins, it's part of our family."
-Marcelo Maturano (founder of Maturano winery)
